Choies Review

Hi everyone today's review is of the fashion website Choies, they're a company from China and they sell some very quirky and unique fashions, they get new stock everyday so its interesting to see what they bring out.
I'm going to be sharing my experience with you, I only ordered two items because I didn't want to buy a lot on my first time.

The first thing i got is this cat print skirt
I've seen a skirt practically the same on Storenvy but this one was much cheaper so i knew i had to get it. It's pleated around the front but not at the back and its a tapestry fabric.
as you can see the print is just lots of cats, its really well made and cute.
it has an elasticated waist so fits about a UK 6-10
it even has a lining too so I'm really impressed with the quality.

its a little shorter than i expected but im not too tall so its fine.

The other item i got is this long sleeved lace blouse

It has a collar made entirely from lace which is also on the shoulders and bow shaped buttons.
It's not fitted so I think it doesn't look very good unless you tuck it into a skirt or shorts. It's really well made so I'm very happy with it.
I've never seen how shaped buttons before!

Overall my experience with Choies was great, they communicated with me very quickly and shipping was free which is good.

Thank you for reading!

Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream review

Today's review is of the Maybelline pure BB cream. It comes in two formulations; I got the Pure because it seemed more light and suited for oily skin and there is also a Fresh version for normal/ dry skin. It comes in two shades; light and medium, I picked the light because I have pale skin.

it is dispensed out of a tube which is hygienic. the tube is a beige and light blue and the plastic feels quite cheap and thin.
Bare skin:
With BB cream:
The coverage is light, It covered some minor blemishes fine and evened out my skin tone nicely. The shade suited me well, because it is a BB cream you don't have to worry about the shade because it adapts to your tone although I'm not sure if it would work well on people with darker skin tones as the medium shade is quite light. The finish is quite matte which I like, it doesn't control oil very well but that's fine as long as you put some powder on to set it. It contains salicylic acid which is supposed to help with acne if you have any.
I applied it using my just my fingers and you only need a pea-sized amount.
I like using it with my Maybelline baby skin primer(review here) because it stays put all day and glides on nicely but for demonstration purposes the photos are only taken with the BB cream on.

I hope you enjoyed this review, thank you for reading!

Maybelline Baby Skin primer review

Today's review is of the new baby skin primer from maybelline. I've tried the baby lips before and I thought the 'pore eraser' sounded promising.
The tube has a decent amount of product inside and comes out of the nozzle which is hygienic.
The primer is clear and very silicone-y, the first ingredient is dimethicone which i know irritates some peoples skin so be careful. A tiny amount goes a long way. It has no scent and blends really easily.
Bare skin:
With primer:
I don't think the pictures do much justice for this primer. It definitely smoothed out my pores and made them much less visible, makeup glided on and stayed put all day. I absolutely love this primer, i think it would work on anyones skin. boots have an offer on it at the minute, I think I bought it for £5.99 but its RRP is £7.99 I think. I cant find it on the Boots website though so maybe it hasn't been released there yet.

How to grow long hair: lee Stafford hair growth treatment review

Today's review is of the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment!

It's a protein based treatment which is supposed to fertilise the hair follicle with proteins, allowing your hair to grow healthier and faster.
This isn't some kind of miracle though, hair growth will only improve slightly and it just helps it to reach its maximum potential.
I got this a year ago and used it vigorously for about 5 months but then i stopped using it because it's quite expensive. I asked for it for Christmas again after getting my hair cut I wanted my hair to get longer again.

The formula is a runny cream consistency and the smell is quite nice, I'm not sure how to describe it!

You start off by using it every wash (between shampoo and conditioner) until you notice an improvement in the condition of your hair and then use it just once a week. It says to apply it from roots to ends but I just apply it to my roots because the rest of my hair is quite healthy and I don't want to waste it!
I noticed an improvement straight away and my hair grew much faster than it normally does which really surprised me.

My hair is pretty long now,I actually recorded the length and in the past year it's grown 5 inches even with a couple of hair cuts which is pretty impressive for my normally slow growing hair.

The pot holds a decent amount of product but you have to use quite a lot each time so one pot only lasts me 2 months at the most. If you're going to get it I would wait till they have an offer on to get the most for your money.

I hope you enjoyed this review and stay tuned for more!

l'oreal miss manga mascara review

Hi everyone! Today's review is of the new miss manga mascara from l'oreal. I got this on offer in boots for £5.99
The tube is quite cute with a pink lid. I got this is the shade black but it also comes in violet.
The brush has soft bristles which glide nicely through the lashes and coat them without clumping which I thought it would do. It has a wave shape which coats each lash evenly. The wand is bendy but I'm not sure if I would ever need it to bend.

Lashes before: as you can see I have very light lashes.

Lashes after:
The mascara added quite a lot of length and volume without clumping and also helped them to hold a curl, application was easy and mess free especially on the bottom lashes. It lasted all day without smudging so no reapplication was needed.

Overall I like this mascara, it isn't the best I've used but for the price it's really great and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Benefit b.right skincare set review

Hi everyone, today i'm going to do a very long review of the Benefit b.right set which consists of six mini items from their skincare range. I got this from Debenhams around Christmas for £10 but its normally £12.
The products come packaged in a very pretty box and when you open it you can see they come with a clear makeup bag to carry them around which is very convenient for travelling. They're very pretty and look lovely sitting together on my dresser.
The bottles and jars are really tiny so if you use them twice a day they would probably only last a couple of weeks but I use them every other day and I'm onto week two and have plenty left. They're a nice option if you want to try them out before buying the full sized versions.

Foamingly Clean facial wash review
First up is the cleanser which is something I would really consider getting the full size of. It comes packaged in a cute little vintage style tube which has a screw off lid and it smells very fresh and clean like the rest of the range.
The tube is made of hard plastic which is a little hard to squeeze and it contains 8.9 grams which is fine because you only need to use a pea-sized amount.
The product is a white, thick cream that contains moisturising ingredients like glycerin which benefit claims to cleanse and remove impurities.
To use it you massage it into damp skin for about 60 seconds, It foams up into a very gentle lather which deep cleanses and leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth but not drying which I really like. I prefer to use it in the morning or in the evening after I've taken off my makeup because I feel it cleanses better with makeup off.  I think this cleanser would suit any skin type, its a little expensive but only a small amount is needed per use.
 RRP £17.50

Moisture prep toning lotion
Second is the toning lotion which is something I've never seen before, it's not watery like most toners, it's thicker and more pleasant to use.

It comes in a tiny glass bottle and is a milky colour with the same smell as the cleanser. Its supposed to maximise the benefits of moisturiser. To apply I pour a tiny amount onto my fingertips and pat into my face(benefit says to apply with cotton wool but I find this wasteful as it absorbs most of the product) it feels slightly sticky immediately afterwards but then dries quickly. The results are; my skin feeling toned and soft with pores reduced and tightened without feeling uncomfortable. It contains alcohol which is a shame as it may not be so good for the skin especially if it's sensitive, it might also be too drying for people with dry skin but for those with normal to oily skin it works really well and I find my moisturiser absorbs much better and it actually adds moisture to the skin rather than drying it like a standard toner.
RRP £23.50

Total moisture facial cream review

Next is the thicker moisturiser in the range which comes in a pretty glass tub, I would prefer a pump though as dipping fingers in can spread germs.

Benefit says it provides short and long term moisture by helping to develop the skin's reserves of water.
The cream is thick and white and I prefer to use it at night as I find it too heavy for day time although people with dry skin could use it through the day but it doesn't contain SPF which is a shame.
Using clean hands I massage a small amount into my skin and it absorbs quickly leaving my skin soft in the morning and it got rid of some dry skin around my nose within a couple of days which I'm happy with.
I probably wont buy the full size because I'm happy with my current night cream but I would highly recommend to anyone with dry skin to use it as a day cream and because you only need a small amount it's good value.
RRP £27.50

It's potent! Eye cream review

I don't normally use eye creams because I don't have wrinkles or bad dark circles but its never too early to start preparing.

It's potent!  comes in a glass jar and it is a light yellow colour. It doesn't have a strong smell which is good because I wouldn't want perfumes near my eyes. It's more watery than the moisturiser but takes a little longer to sink in and has a cooling effect which is nice.
I haven't seen any benefits after using it for a couple of weeks but maybe someone with concerns around their eyes would.
I wouldn't repurchase this only because it  didn't do anything to my skin,  although I did enjoy using it and would consider it for the future.
RRP £24.50

Triple performing facial emulsion review

This is the lighter moisturiser of the set and comes in the same glass bottle as the toner, it contains SPF 15 and is oil free so it works very well as a day time moisturiser especially for those with oily skin.
To use I take small amounts and dot around my face and massage with clean hands, it absorbs very quickly and doesn't feel heavy or sticky, it provides only a small amount of moisture so is probably not very effective on dry skin.
I really love this moisturiser, I find it hard to find a day cream which works well on my skin but this works wonders and I really want to get the full  size.
RRP £20.50

Refined finish facial polish review

Lastly is the scrub of the set which comes in the same tube as the cleanser and contains the same amount of product.

It comes out of the tube as a thick cream with tiny little beads to exfoliate, it smells really nice and fresh and you only need to use a pea-sized amount.
To use simply massage it into the skin for about 30 seconds, because the beads are so small it's a very gentle exfoliant. Then just pat dry with a clean towel.
Afterwards my skin feels very smooth and noticeably brighter and softer. my pores appear smaller and the results are quite long lasting. I really enjoy using this and I highly recommend it to anyone, even those with sensitive skin because the tiny beads are so gentle.
RRP £18.50
